Georgetown's New-Business Filings Are Outpacing Its Reputation

2026-10-02

171 filings — second only to Round Rock

Georgetown, Williamson County's historic seat and one of the fastest-growing cities in the

country over the last several years, filed 171 new sales-tax permits in the trailing 60

days — 140 of them at real storefronts or service addresses. That's second only to Round

Rock among the metro suburbs we track, ahead of Cedar Park and well ahead of Buda and Kyle.

What's filing

Recent registrations range from manufacturing and specialty retail (Innolinkers USA,

423830; E2 Custom Works LLC, 339999) to services (The Sew Darling, custom sewing/alteration;

Almighty Rentals, equipment rental, 532490). Georgetown also shows up repeatedly in our TABC

feed — Big Hat Spirits (package store) and MOD Pizza (beer & wine to-go) both landed new

alcohol licenses in the same window, a sign of continued restaurant and retail buildout around

the city's growing commercial corridors.

Why Georgetown keeps surprising people

Much of the public narrative around Georgetown still centers on residential growth (it's

routinely named one of the fastest-growing cities in the US by population). The commercial

filing data shows the retail and restaurant base is keeping pace, not lagging behind the

rooftops.
